Your vial
The standard adds vial mg ÷ 10 mL of solvent, so every 0.1 mL mark holds 1 mg. Make sure the volume fits your vial.

Enter the vial amount and the volume of solvent added. The calculator shows the concentration, the mg held at every 0.1 mL mark on a 1 mL syringe, and the volume that contains any mg amount you need for an assay.

Reconstitution spreads a fixed amount of lyophilized powder evenly through the solvent you add. Two numbers decide everything: the vial amount and the solvent volume.
The amount held in any volume is the concentration times that volume. For example, a 10 mg vial with 2 mL of solvent is 5 mg/mL, so each 0.1 mL mark holds 0.5 mg.
Adding vial mg ÷ 10 mL of solvent gives 10 mg/mL for any vial size. Every 0.1 mL graduation then holds exactly 1 mg, which keeps records simple across compounds.
| Vial | Solvent for 10 mg/mL |
|---|---|
| 2 mg | 0.2 mL |
| 5 mg | 0.5 mL |
| 10 mg | 1 mL |
| 15 mg | 1.5 mL |
| 20 mg | 2 mL |
| 30 mg | 3 mL |
| 50 mg | 5 mL |
Very small volumes are hard to measure accurately, and large ones may not fit the vial. In either case, choose a different volume and let the calculator do the arithmetic.
